+762 If you kept on repainting your walls over and over and over again, they'd eventually be touching, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's a lot of paint, my friend.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what do you mean, "touching"? don't walls already touch each other?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They mean opposite walls

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*He means opposite walls.* Please use grammar correctly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry for typing right before a nap while I'm listening to music and depressed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's okay, just resolve to be more alert in the future.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually, he did use proper grammar. saying "they" is acceptable when one doesn't know the gender of the person they're describing.

Actually, would you mind looking up "they" in the dictionary? 'They' is plural. Last time I checked, Breakfastfan was not schizophrenic, nor a Siamese twin, so his grammar is incorrect. Please refrain from being wrong in the future.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"The 'singular' they is the use of this pronoun, where they is used as a gender-neutral singular rather than plural pronoun. "

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Did you just make that up? Sounds made up. The thing is, it's a debate right now. They haven't decided. As of now, the rule still stands, it's only to be used in the plural sense. However, that may change, thus resulting in your being right, and my being wrong, but as of now, I am correct.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, as of now you are not "correct". that's like saying Christians are correct, as of now, because of the Bible. you are just on the different side of the debate, and people have been using "they" for a long time now. for example: "anyone who is as annoying and arrogant as you are will be disliked by their peers"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not trying to get into this little fight, but if you were trying to use correct grammar in that sentence, you'd say "anyone who is as annoying and arrogant as you are will be disliked by his/her peers" Cause, well. they is plural, no matter what.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It would actually be impossible to do it yourself... Think about it ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, it wouldnt. he didn't say hand-painting nor painting the entire wall.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It was implied. Otherwise, he would have/should have said "If you kept on repainting part of your walls over and over and over again, they'd eventually be touching, amirite?"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How else would you do it anyway? Without hand painting it I mean.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wonder if anybody has done that before. Or is trying. That would take a lot of paint, and a lot of time.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

there isn't really a point, though, so why bother? it would just waste time and space and money. if you'd only done one brush-width of a wall, you'd just make the room smaller by that layer of paint

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure there's a point... I'm sure you'd get into a world record book. Or you could do it in a museum for people to see. And besides, there are plenty of things that people do for no reason at all.

You'd have to climb in through the roof to get the last coat.
