it's not fair to say that any one section works the hardest, true the percussion at my school is the most badass part of the marching band. but what about the runs that flutes clarinets altos and tenors have to do all the time? and what about the brass and low brass that keeps the tempo and pushes through the band for those awesome solos? i mean, yeah to each is his own and we all love our instruments but they're all important to the band as a whole and that's the most important part that we alll should remember :] clarinets > trumpets though. xD

There are 3 percussionists in my band, they work their asses off to try and make everything work (I am not one of them, I am a proud clarinetist)

Clarinets probably have an advantage here cause more girls play clarinet and more girls are on this site. So I find this to be unfair and therefore incorrect that clarinets are winning.

Woah. You think clarinets are better? What about DCI? ABSOLUTELY NO WOODWINDS. Who's better now? There's no DCI think for woodwinds. Actually, you can't even hear woodwinds on the marching field. Marching band is all about the trumpets. Sorry, love.

Well, clarinets do have one of the largest written ranges of any band instrument (I think bassoon is the largest, not entirely sure), and what is normal for clarinetists is extremely high for trumpets. And I don't think trumpets go as low as we do. I'm a clarinetist so I'm not positive.
