I was telling my dad how even if you're 16, when you get your permit you still have to wait 6 months before you can get your license and he said "I don't think that's right, It wasn't like that when I was 16." Things change . . .

My dad tells these kinds of stories more. One of his favorites: "When I was a kid, I got just a red rubber ball for Christmas, and I was happy."

"When I was your age, I payed for college myself!" Like it even cost half as much as it does now

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Even if it didn't people didn't make as much as they do now....

It's not about inflation, even by today's dollar value college was really cheap.

Things like technology might change, but people don't change. That's one thing that'll never change. Even a mom from two hundred years ago can give you advice, using the things she learned from two hundred years ago.

"When I was your age and we had allergies WE SUCKED IT UP!" "When you were my age an allergy meant you sneezed a lot, not that you went into anaphylactic shock and died, grandpa." "Hurmph....kids these days...."

When i was your age, we had to tackle dinosaurs on our way to school, dodge pterodactyls in the sky, and kill saber-tooth lions to make our own clothing but the most valuable lesson i learned was- oh wait... you kids don't do that any more? well, my advice is just shit then!

by Anonymous 13 years ago
