+249 It's annoying as hell to argue with a grammar Nazi. The only comebacks they have are shitty ones against your grammar and spelling when they've already lost the argument and still feel the need to have the last jab at you, amirite?

This is great because no one can say you spelt something wrong... your grammer is perfect :)

Grammar**

*spelled

by Anonymous 13 years ago

spelt is considered a correct way for spell's past tense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Both are considered correct, actually. I looked it up because when people said 'spelt' it really annoyed me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i never said both aren't. I said it's "a" correct not "the" as in the only way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oops. xD Sorry, I was reading fast and distracted. :3

But being a grammar nazi is fun... Not to mention, if you are gonna argue with one, you should be using correct spelling/grammar anyway. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Am I right?*** ;) haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you forgot a comma

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't insult grammar/spelling as a means of argument in a debate, but when I see something that needs correcting, I'll say so, just because it irks me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and because we want them to be successful in life, so we help them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly, amigo

by Anonymous 13 years ago

why should it irk you so much?? i don't understand.

(The Comedian): No, it isn't... try typing it into spellcheck, and see what it says. "Spelt" is the spelling of the mispronunciation of "spelled", nothing more.

They are called Grammar NAZIS because they have Hitler-like determination.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most of us are partly OCD and can't stand errors, and find that significantly more important that the comebacks we have created.

If you can't use good spelling and at least mostly correct grammar, there's no way I'm taking your argument seriously.

I understand correct grammar is good and important sometimes.. It really doesn't bother me when i see people spell a word wrong. I spell very bad sometimes that doesn't mean i don't have something smart to say especially when i am bilingual and english is my second language and even if you finished school they still don't teach you how to spell every single word. Those who write and read books i can say they are most likely to have proper grammar. The thing is i do not argue about what i don't know and if i am having an argument with you about a subject i really know of more than the person i am arguing with grammar has nothing to do with the subject and if that person gets mad he or she is not smart enough to keep up with the argument and starts correcting my spelling it just shows me that person is mad and lost the argument as soon as she or he changed the subject trying to make me seem stupid for correcting my spelling. I think a smart person knows what to do and how to react in many different situations and can learns how to operate things fast with out even reading a manual. Many people have proper grammar and wouldn't be able to do things or react on a tight situation quick and smart. I try to spell correctly and fail a few words sometimes you're just trying to correct me its fine but you people or at least most of you aren't really trying to correct you're mostly trying to humiliate that person (which i think is a very corny and nerdy way to do so). So if people spelling a few words wrong in the internet makes you sooooooo angry. i think you have a psychological problem and need to correct that first. sorry for the super long ass essay.
