I can too! I'm white, but i have so many freckles new teachers tend to think i have leprosy and don't wake me up, assuming i've fell ill and died during class.

Not necessarily. I'm asian and in Singapore and if any of us sleeps in class for excessive amounts of time, chances are, we would fail our classes.

Unfortunately I have to disagree, as much as the stereotype may make it seem so, we may not get in trouble for it, well we might depending on the teacher... but regardless, we get made fun of about it, and the news spreads like wildfire. It's quite terrible being made fun of about something that if someone else did it no one would care.

This stereotype doesn't fit me or 99% of the Asians I've met (I live in Canada so most of the Asians I've met are Filipinos or Vietnamese). MOST (not exclusively) of the Asians who do fit this stereotype are East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean). South East Asian, North Asian, South Asian, West Asian (or the Middle East) doesn't really fit this stereotype. And, we actually would get in trouble if we fell asleep in class...

oh my gosh, this has happened to me before! the teacher yelled at me for sleeping (which i was) then a kid piped up and was all "she was awake and listening to you, dude, you're just being racist because she's asian." and the teacher freaked out and apologized like crazy. :D
