I have a friend who is soooooooooooooooooo white, and also fits every stereotype of a zealous southern Christian conservative, it's almost surreal. :P But we have fun. :)

I have an Asian friend whose parents own a Chinese restaurant, she's good at maths and she plays the piano. PS. I get to eat at her restaurant for free. It's awesome.

Same here in China - kids who are pushed too hard at school, forced to play piano and violin, good at math, shy and reserved. Other Asian stereotypes which are true at an alarming rate: 1) Bad driving (esp. China) 2) Cute kids and ugly adults (China again) 3) Kids pressured by parents to do science and engineering, even to the point of suicide (Korea, China, Japan) Stereotypes are offensive and shouldn't ever be thought of as absolute truth - but they are rooted in a certain truth, and when you're in the place itself, you see it very often in fact.

Once I was in Target and this black woman's kid was running everywhere. She screamed "SHAYQUWAN (guessing on teh spelling), GET YO ASS OVA HERE BEFORE I BUST YOU UP, BOY!" It was freaking hilarious.
