Actually, it is better the way they had it in the movie. If he gave them to his kids, they wouldn't play with them because that would be the same as us giving our toys to our kids. When we have our kids, they will have new toys and new technology so our kids would rather play with the brand new toys. Then Woody, Buzz, and all of them would be left and put in boxes again.
