+639 It's hard to think that the earth existed for millions of years, because if that's true, us humans really did manage to fuck up big time in a span of 2000+ years, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really hope you don't think humans have existed for only 2,000 years.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's a good point. At first glance I thought it was correct... O.O In fact until you said that I thought it was correct. I blame myself, for not paying attention at school... :P

Of course not, I'm just saying since the first A.D., we've been technologically globalizing everything very, very rapidly to the point to where we're modernized and settled. Compare that to before, and it shocking.

The earth is not billions of years old, it's 6000 years old.

what is this i don't even

Science is all wrong. If you go on YouTube, you can see many different videos such as proving how carbon dating doesn't work.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uhhh what do you mean "if it's true" i'm pretty sure scientist have pretty much proven that the earth is billions of years old

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How did humans screw up I don't understand. I'm pretty sure humans are doing a damn good job creating everything from nothing.

Universe 14 billion years Earth 4.6 billion years Life 3.5 billion years Humans 200,000 years

We're actually studying this in my history class~ Homo erectus have been around for about 750,000 years. Homo sapiens sapiens [why they have it twice is beyond me] have only been around for 200,000 years, though. The first development of humans was around 2 million years ago.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When I said humans, I was talking about our exact species. Although the hominids leading up to us were certainly more intelligent then mere animals, it's tough to tell if they were actually sentient. Either way, the time that we've been around for would be 11:59:59 pm if the existance of the Earth were a clock.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's so interesting to think that. It seems like 200,000 years is such a long time, but it's not compared to the earth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah and we spent about 140,000 years of that just sitting around in Africa. And it's only been about 150 years since the industrial revolution. It seems to us that we've been around forever and are going to be around forever, but if we were to go extinct, we would actually be a short lived species compared to most.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So what the hell have we been doing for the past 198,000 years, then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry to interrupt, but it's we humans, not us humans. You are now free to continue your historical debate.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

NOT THE GRAMMAR NAZI!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry, it's my calling.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is rather sad to think how just in 2000 years we have made earth nothing like is was before. It will probably never be the same again =(.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We need a new plague... haha.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahahaha, I just have to point this out. It should be WE humans. not us.
