Why would you be asking a physicist this? Seems more in the realm of astronomy or cosmology. EDIT: Second thought, this could land somewhere in the field of *theoretical* physics, but it's still more aligned with cosmology.

The thing is, the Big Bang is utterly preposterous as a stand alone theory. Nothing explodes and creates everything. Logical.

Seems to me, the same can be said about any theory about the origin of our "universe".
