Yeah, at the library I volenteer at, they had me sharpen a bunch of pencils because they use them as knitting needles. Real ones are banned. It's crazy...

I've heard of schools banning them for being distracting, but I haven't heard of it being because of gangs.. I work in an elementary school and the silly bandz are distracting and cause a lot of arguments. I can see why some schools ban them for that, but not for gangs. That's just silly.

Its because they are distracting. Not gang related. Well thats the case at my brothers school...but yeah. So many people got them and are going "Oooh! Mines a castle! Oooh! Mines a dolphin!! Oooh! Mines a penis!" That they had to ban them. :(

Its just the lower grades, they aren't allowed. We aren't allowed piercings or unnatural hair color either... And if like three people wear white shirts on the same day they get called to the office for gang related things. What are the chances of a couple people wearing white shirts the same day? VERY HIGH
