Dude, they don't actually start training to be ninjas till they're four and even then he failed hard. He was like the worst ninja ever. He doesn't talk to the kyuubi for the first twelve years of his life, he's 12 or 13 when Jiraiya releases the seal and he makes a deal with the fox.

I respectfully disagree. In general, ninjas are considered cooler than pirates because of their mysterious nature and ability to strike quickly and hide in the shadows. This form of fighting, in my opinion, is much more cowardly than the "stand and fight" form that pirates use. In anime, pirates are better in every way. Naruto characters don't stand a chance against One Piece characters.
