+337 When you were younger and it was a special American day like the 4th of July you had no problem feeling pride in your country. But now that you're older and things aren't so black-and-white, it's harder to feel so devotedly patriotic, amirite?

inb4 "*insert country name here* IS LIEK SO MUCH BETTER HURDUR"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not hard for me. I don't know about you leftists, but I feel plenty of pride in my country.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pride an blind faith are two differet things. I didn't think you esteemed "rightists" would take such a cheap shot. Especially when expressing your patriotism.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This coming from a person against Conservative stereotypes?.. Huh...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@1123390 (Anonymous): When did I say blind faith? The only "Conservtive stereotype" I am portraying is patriotism...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, and There's a difference between blind faith and patriotism. The conservative stereotype is one of them. I'll give you a clue; it's not patriotism.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And I would define mine as patriotism, and not blind faith.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And your personal beleifs are what characterize the Conservative stereotype?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I honestly don't know what you're talking about anymore.

Patriotism seems to cause more bad than good. It can cause us to view our own country, land and people as better than others. It can cause prejudice to immigrants. We should be looking out what is best for humanity, and the world, as a whole rather then our specific country and we shouldn't consider ourselves better then others because of where we were born or where we live.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I consider myself a human above all. Arbitrarily set boundaries for countries mean nothing, really. Care for others, no matter what country they live in.
