Bella's actually a moron in the books too. Apparently Stephanie meyer made her have no personality on purpose so that more people would be "able to relate to her." it just makes her stupid.

Pfft, that's what she's been SAYING. Stephenie Meyer gave Bella no personality because Stephenie Meyer can't write for shit, not because she had some kind of PLAN. Just look at the last book in the series. Everything except "Bella becomes a vampire" was probably pulled out of her ass while writing it.

I laughed my ass off when I was watching Zathura and found out that the guy she had a thing for was her brother from the future. And then at the end when he's all, "Do you still think I have gorgeous eyes?" I almost died! Funniest part about the movie, no doubt.

Bella was basically a shell that desperate, lonely teenage girls were supposed to be able to slip easily into. The problem was that it also made her a complete void of a character... she even admits to being hollow and empty without Edward. It's fucking retarded, and a terrible image to present to teenage girls; oh, it's ok to make some controlling, abusive jerk the center of your universe to the point where you become nothing when they're gone... those blank pages in New Moon made me want to vomit... and to give up everything you believe in for him, because all you really need in life is to get married a virgin and have a baby, no matter what the cost. I had a friend call me a "hater" when I said I couldn't stand Bella, as if I was jealous! LOL I was like, jealous of what? Her complete lack of personality? Her creepy codependent relationship? I'd rather have the end of a shotgun in my mouth and my toe on the trigger, personally.

i agree. i actually liked the books a lot (despite the terrible writing) because the plot it self was pretty good and original, but bella is just a prick on all accounts. she's fucking annoying as hell and is so dramatic about everything and half the problems are because of her. the only remotely interesting thing she does is at the very end of the last book and even then.. it wasn't that riveting. i really just want to punch her character in the face and just have the story without her. they can replace with someone who.. oh i don't know, does something worth reading about maybe?!

Other then the sparkling vampires, the characters flat personalities and such, I agree. I liked the books alright, though it bugs me she based Bella off of herself and it was also based off her dream.
