+519 It's strange how two of the larger problems facing the adolescents of America are eating disorders (like anorexia/bulimia) and obesity, amirite?

My friend is over-weight, and didn't eat lunch the other day. She told me she wasn't hungry, but the school checked our weights that day and I think she's lying.

That's so sad! You should tell her that she is beautiful, and if she is over-weight, you could exercise with her or join a sport together so she doesn't lose the weight all alone. (:

It's not just strange, it's sad. What that says is that teens are obsessed with body image, instead of things that're important.

They preach anti-obesity, portion control, and exercise to the wrong girls..

I'm not trying to undermine the impact of eating disorders--but if we're being honest, overweight is a much bigger problem than anorexia/bulimia in today's society. Less than 3% of teenagers face an eating disorder, whereas ten times as many are overweight/obese.

Does anyone out there think its wrong to have an eating disorder?

Considering they're not good for you and could kill you, then it's bad to have one.

When it gets to the point where it consumes your entire life, then yes.

I never thought of them that way.I just thought of them as a part of life.

Hey, it can only be hot or cold. God forbid anything make sense in America.
