It's weird, because you're looking around at all these cool designs, but at the same time, you're looking at nothing.

I actually something like the Northern Lights. When I'm trying to sleep and I see them, it gets REALLY distracting...

This thread has me cracking up! I see this too, you guys. I see THE GOLDEN DOUGHNUT with the green border and yellow lights slowly forming into the doughnut. Okay, this is weirder and feel free to chuckle: when the lights are out I can turn my eyes inward (if you could see me my eyes would look white) and I see this doughnut without having to rub my eyes at all. (I have no idea what prompted this experimentation on my part - LOL!). What I think this is is that all of these "visual" experiences" might be due to the remnant light still in the back of the eyes projecting back to our iris from the eye mechanism that translates light as what we perceive it to be (pressure is perceived as light too) and this is why it looks like a doughnut because that is what our eye looks like. We are seeing the iris with our own eyes! Remember that it is the BRAIN that "sees" not really the eyes, per-see. Okay, I'm off to rub my eyes again.
