+397 Ballet isn't a sport, it's an art form. That's like a sport with a purpose. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, ballet is an art form. However, the purpose of ballet is to entertain people. That is also the goal of sports.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ballet isn't strictly to entertain. It's an expression of feelings through movement and music and many ballets tell a story.

true, true...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sports are competitive. Team vs Team, person vs person

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thanks so much for that, ballet isn't nearly as respected as it should be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh wow... it's girls... jumping up and down... this is as great as the Mona freakin' Lisa!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

have you ever tried it? i seriously doubt you could do half the stuff they can.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haaa you're so ignorant. ballet is so beautiful and just as hard as a sport as football or soccer or whatever. have you ever tried to dance ballet?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WTF. Ballet takes years of struggling and training to achieve mastery. And in an art, unlike a sport, you are working roasted perfection, not winning. Winning can be achieved, but perfection cannot.

@630476 (Anonymous): @630475 (GreenSiena): I never said it was easy, I just said it's not a sport, and not an art form.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know, but what bothers me is that you mocked it and said it's just girls jumping up and down

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, I forgot, they stand on their toes too (still... not saying it's easy)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are so ignorant. And people who play the sport of golf swing their arms... Wow.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How so? I'm simply stating that ballet is kinda pointless...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Golf: A guy trying to put a ball in a hole with a stick Soccer: several people trying to put a ball in a net football:Who knows, who cares? Hockey:trying to put a puck in a net with a stick. The only point sports seem to have is to put somethng in something else. Are men compensating for something, or are they really just that unimaginative?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...That goes for all styles of dance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All dance comes from ballet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Criteria to be a sport: 1.Requires athletic activity and exercises the body 2.Takes skill and requires training to maintain that skill 3.Is competitive either between teams or between individuals and has some way to score performance Is there such a thing as competitive ballet?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i guess you've never been to a dance competition then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No one has ever been to a ballet dance competition.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...I've been on a dance competition team, dude.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just jokes, no offense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Jokes have to be funny.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh get over it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not 'till you stop being an asshole. ;D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wonder how people can get so worked up over just a comment on the internet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Mmm, I wasn't trying to start a fight lol. I wasn't really worked up at all, really. Just proving my point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Alright

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes there is!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

your picture makes me smile :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thanks! :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There isn't competitive ballet, but their are competions you can choose to compete in. Most dance schools offer classes that go to regular competitions every once in a while, Maybe ballet isn't Advertised as a competitive sport, but people do compete, therefore it is a sport.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@630481 (Notjustanothergirl): @630480 (Anonymous): Huh. I didn't know that, thanks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's an art form. It isn't at all pointless. Every move has to have purpose

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Any form of dance, really! Yes, a sport with a purpose, that's the perfect way to put it! :-)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And for a man it takes years of loving the cock.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Chicken Sandwich): What's more gay: A football player wearind tight pants and standing directly behind sever other guys with tight pants and tackling each other, or a guy in almost no clothing surrounded by athletic women wearing almost nothing.
