+347 Greed and fear both get a bad rap, but they're the only things that motivate people to do stuff. If there is absolutely nothing in it for you and there are absolutley no consequences for not doing it, then there's no reason to do it, amirite?

No I don't help other people for greed or for myself I help them because it make the world a better place, and not a better place for me a better place for others

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You want a better place for yourself, which is commonly called a form of greed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some people just genuinely care about others. I wish I was that selfless, but I'm not.

bad rep* as in reputation.

rap works. it's idiomatic and basically means that it has negative connotations.

what about love or trust? your life will suck and it will be empty if you only do things for greed or fear.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lust is greed. You want whatever you're lusting after. And because you can't have love without lust, both of those would fall under "greed". I haven't been able to think of anything that doesn't fall under one of the two categories, so I guess life sucks.

you can definitely have love without lust. Though lust can be a part of love, it does not make love. I'm not talking about Hollywood, pink, rosy, sexy love. I'm talking about I-got-your-back, I'll-take-out-the-trash-for-you-even-though-I've-done-it-four-times-this-week, I'll-support-your-dreams kind of love. That is what life is about and that kind of love is not based on greed or fear. Without that you have not really experienced life.

It's almost impossible to be entirely selfless, we just don't have empathy that stretches that far, if we didn't ultimately look out for number one we would have never survived in the early years of human development. However now we are a thriving society I think this is something we should always strive for and hopefully it will be something we can evolve into becoming.

what if i cut my toenail... i dont want my toenail as in greed, and i dont fear my toenail.. so why do i cut it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You fear the consequences of not cutting it. It is a very small form of fear, but of still does fit in that category.

uhh i think ur reading too much into this, sure i agree with u about the fear/greed thing, but you are too ...whats the word...., well you just sound too negative and insist on pointing this view that may not be proved wrong.

i dont fear the consequences of my toenail being long.. at all
