+423 Issac Newton may be a genius, but I think I would've figured out that things fall at a much younger age. amirite?

He proved the universal rate of gravitational acceleration, not that "things fall".

I know what Isaac Newton did, I'm just making a joke based on the well known simplified version of the story, stating that he discovered gravity when an apple fell on his head. Please don't treat me like an idiot.

An apple didn't actually fall on his head.

I know, but my post is about the common story.

Never mind Newton, look at Aristotle: "the stone which by nature moves downwards cannot be habituated to move upwards, not even if one tries to train it by throwing it up ten thousand times". I would think that after the first couple tosses he would have realized that you can't train a rock to fly. You can't say he failed for lack of effort, I guess.
