-305 I think a good majority of the population is never 100% sure when to use then or than. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then= time ("i will do it then..") than is everything else (" he is smarter than i")

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes I know, but a lot of people don't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think OP's talking about you personally, just most of the people with bad grammar around here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i just say the sentence and realize what I need to use. Effect and Affect on the other hand is a different story... and yes i know the rule

by Anonymous 13 years ago

affect = verb effect = noun? I've never been sure of that one, but learning Latin helped a lot with grammar especially who and whom

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not saying people on here haven't learned. Just saying alot of people say they are unsure of how to apply it sometimes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Effect is also a verb, but it is used less frequently than "affect." Affect is to cause or interfere, and effect (as a verb) means to bring about something. His poor playing affected the outcome of the game. He effected the change in the line-ups, causing them to win the game.

Sadly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What population are you talking about?? The SECOND GRADE? Wtf

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You aren't read it right. It says a majority are unsure how to use it. Not saying they can't. Apparently people don't read things throughly otherwise they would get it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"I aren't read it right"...? Omfg I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you were mentally retarded..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry my computer is mentally retarded and doesn't write everything I type. Someone needs to get off their high horse.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well I read thoroughly from the beginning and still disagree

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Point proven. Don't talk about grammar on here and don't make grammar mistakes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this drives me nuts on here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Then I guess it's time that everyone that knows the difference realizes that they're more knowledgeable on the subject than those that struggle with it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Agreed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If that's true than we're screwed. smirk

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well right now it is 251 versus 500 so it's a majority that agree.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You really thought this would be a smart thing to do in a site that isn't short on grammar nazis?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's just full of people with short tempers that like to fight with everyone.
