-170 Foreign music is better than American music. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Although I'm generally in agreement, I do love some American songs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what if you don't live in america.... then it is FOREIGN!!! AUGH!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Depends on the song.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

honestly op, it totally depends. No one country has the best music as other countries have different cultures, artists and tastes. Despite this i assume you're talking about america's shit pop music compared to another's shit pop. In that case, here's a protip, it's all shit. Have a nice day.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My guess is that the people no waying this don't listen to much foreign music.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OP im serbian too!! i assume then that you are talking abt serbian music, which i quite fancy ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

all the awesome bands come from other countries

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Foreign music is amazing. Most people who voted no way on this probably don't listen to anything other than what plays on mainstream radio. :/ I think having some diverse music tastes and listening to at least a few bands that not that many other people know about is a really good thing. My absolute favorite genre of music is Italian dance music (Eiffel 65 and lots more) and I think it's amazing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well, american music doesn't really have to be mainstream music. American music can be Buddy Holly, The Monkees, etc...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

British music > Any given American music.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is so true. Are people no waying saying Ke$ha is better than Coldplay???

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, because Ke$ha is SUCH an accurate representation of American music.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

give me something they play on the radio that isn't like ke$ha. when i think american music, ke$ha, miley cyrus, jason derulo. i mean that IS what they play on the radio, after all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The radio isn't an accurate representation, either. I mean if that's the case, I've heard stuff like Ke$ha and Katy Perry on the British satellite radio. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah but we're talking American made. for some reason british music never seems to make its way over here (with the exception of taio cruz, coldplay and, of course, the beatles) while american music is everywhere over there. let me put it this way. when you think american music, what do YOU think?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stuff like Counting Crows, As Tall As Lions, Kings of Leon, and The Black Keys. Sure, we have a bunch of terrible mainstream music, but why should it represent us entirely? I'm sure other countries have terrible music as well. Every place does.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@Pedestrians I've only heard a couple Eiffel 65, but I love them! I really love Italian dance music too, and most Euro-dance, any good songs you can recommend me??

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i no wayed for the same reason as earlier anon

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Korean music FTW!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The British have some great musicians.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

America has been producing the best music in the world for about 50 years now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Am I the only one who doesn't really pay attention to what country my music comes from?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes. It's important to know the historical context of the music you're listening to.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Foreign music and American music is great..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anyone who would say you couldn't NW this post w/o listening to nothing but mainstream is a moron. I like plenty of foreign music; angry, stompy German industrial mostly, and one of my favorite bands is from AU(Angelspit). I love Finnish metal and British pop. However, my VERY favorite band, Tool, is American... therefore, I must disagree. I just wanted to clarify that it's not due to any lack of musical well-roundedness, though, for the whiny elitists.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, to me, foreign music includes American music.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They both are awesome. My 2nd favorite band is American... the monkees, and my 1st and 3rd favorite band are British. (the beatles and queen)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

German music dominates.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Serbia sucksssss

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love a few bands from the US, but most of them are European.
