+449 At the beginning of 2010, saying "twenty-ten" sounded really weird and we couldn't decide whether to call it that or "two-thousand ten". But now, it sounds perfectly normal. amirite?

same w/ twenty eleven or two thousand eleven

True, though I think they sound more normal than twenty ten/two thousand ten did to us at the beginning.

yea, I used to say Two thousand eleven but now i always say twenty eleven but then again we did say two thousand and nine, and then went to twenty ten

Now hearing both seems natural, but I personally prefer to say two thousand ten.

I've been calling it twenty ten since two thousand five.

No one that I know calls it twenty-ten. Post is American?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yup. Though I think lots of people here also don't say twenty-ten.

Ok cool. Twenty-ten just sounds wrong. I don't know why! This is completely irrelevant but do Americans know Florence + the Machine? A friend and I disagreed over the answer, just interested!

I don't... But I don't listen to a lot of music. (I looked it up on google).
