+186 In my opinion, the the more expensive and high quality your camera is,the more it shows how unskilled you are in photography. Youre just more dependent on the camera than yourself to take a good photo, amirite?

There are plenty of talented photographers with nice cameras.

This is true to an extent. Having a good camera doesn't mean you're a bad photographer. I mean, I'm a decent picture taker, and I can take an ok picture with a camera phone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not really, I mean, your standard digital camera suck at taking pictures of objects in motion, so you have to get a camera that doesn't make the picture really blurry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, because a truly AMAZING photographer could take pristine, blur free shots with a $30 camera phone...dumbass.

a lot of digital cameras are crap. Besides if I was interested in photography and I can afford nice cameras then why wouldnt I purchase them? I have both so speaking from experience, the more expensive ones are a lot better.

Photography is also about the colors used and the clarity, not just the angles. And a really nice camera allows the photographer to manipulate and use those elements. Just think: would you rather look at a shitty quality photo, or a pristine quality photo? My bet is the latter, and the photographer knows that. So I disagree. Photography isn't just about the picture. It's the process of attaining it as well.

Yeah, I know a lot of people like that. Oh, you have the canon professional camera? Doesn't mean YOUR photographs are. I can't take a decent picture to save my life.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But that doesn't mean everyone who has nice cameras can't take good pictures.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, I know. I never said that. Actually, I know a couple of people who can take amazing pictures - with or without a professional camera. However, a friend of mine has the new Canon 7D, and still her photographs aren't that great- no matter what she says. (She has a bragging tendency.)

So I guess we basically agree that the camera doesn't make the photographer, but disagree about the post. When I see someone with a nice camera they're generally better photographers as well.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. I only said that because, here in my country, having a professional camera is some sort of fad. So, they kinda ruined that concept.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ahhhh. And which country is this, might I ask? Having a camera in my country (or at least my part, I'm American and it's obviously big) just means you have money and like to take pictures that are generally good.

Dubai,UAE. It's not that extreme for a fad, but I know a couple of people (including my sis -.-' ) who bought it because many people have it, or it's cool or whatever. It's annoying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can see that. My family members are kind of like that except they don't have too nice of a camera and are a tad more realistic
