+90 It's sad when people Photoshop all of their pics on Social Networking sites. They aren't fooling anyone but themselves, amirite?

If it makes someone feel better about themselves if only for a few minutes... it's surely worth it.

I never said it wasn't worth it, I said it is sad. If its for strictly personal satisfaction then go ahead photoshop their heart's content and put it as a wallpaper or stare at it but don't put it online. The person may get a kick out of it but then they are cheating everyone else who looks at their pictures. All that positive comment feedback is fake too because the pics aren't who the person really looks like... Now if it is all artistic and abstract I can understand, but if they are just trying to make themselves appear better by altering their looks then no.

They shouldn't need to edit a picture of themselves to be happy about their looks.

If you're taking photos just for the sake of taking photos for yourself, it's superficial to begin with, so you have no right to criticize them. If you're taking a portrait, then it's implied that it has been played around with to begin with.
