+147 Reviving shows is hard. You can't revive the crappy ones, or at least you won't. You can't revive the good ones, because nothing will ever be as good as the original and it might ruin it. You can't revive the mediocre ones, because they're not memorable enough. amirite?

Annie, Evita, and Funny Girl are getting revivals on Broadway in 2011. I'm excited for the Funny Girl revival...not so much Annie though.

I disagree with the first part. Crappy shows are normally crappy because they have a good-for-TV premise, but they're played out terribly. Bad acting, bad character development, straying from the plot too much. That's what normally puts people off. It's not exactly about the plots now, it's about how the plots are played. Take Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for example. A vampire slayer. Kills demons and such. Wowza, so k00l...booooring. But then, they took that idea, and revamped it to the umpteenth degree, and holy shit wow it's amazing so gr9 how even did they do that what the characters are amazing i want to marry all of them can i marry this show how do you even do things anymore after you finish this. Daria is another. A misfit teen, cynical to the world. Showing her problems. Dull, shit, unoriginal...but then, suddenly, half the characters are hamming it up, and snarkiness and sarcasm is all around every corner and the characters, even the hated ones, become likable and you start to orgasm just by looking at the show how do you even exist? So uh, yeah, that's why I disagree.
