+402 In a country with no taxes, you might have more money, but you also have to buy some things to help you.. like a boat because of a lack of bridges, an ATV because of a lack of roads, educational supplies for your children because of a lack of schools... oh wait, you can't get any of those things because of a lack of infrastructure and law... remember, no police, so your stuff gets stolen. amirite?

Private entities...not everything comes from gov't.

The only way it would be profitable for private businesses to provide these things would be to put tolls on every road/bridge, have enormous school fees, have the police charge you before they do anything etc. It's just not practical.

If every was controled by private enterprise corruption would be rife. There needs to be a balance between the two.

I don't think any sensible person is against ALL taxes, just the extreme over-taxing that has our money winding up in places it doesn't belong. If the government would only have citizens pay their FAIR SHARE, then it wouldn't be so much of a problem. However, when they bill us for things that we didn't want and are not needed (e.g. auto industry, big bank bailouts who, instead of spending the money to keep their bank afloat, pay all their executives with huge bonuses) that's where the problem lies. It's simply not right for a government to go against their own people's wishes time and time again, not because they believe it's in their people's best interest, but simply to fill their pockets or the pockets of their buddies, be they politicians or heads of big corporation.

Have the govt pay for everything. Deficit spending.

You could also buy a gun and not be a push over.

If only the solution to things were as simple as "buy a gun". Sometimes not even a gun will save you from an attack.
