You were pretty much FORCED to play the recorder in elementary school, amirite?

Eighth grade classrooms are on the bottom floor along with the music room, so all year long we get to hear the wonderful screech of the records. It's best around Christmas time when they practice for when they play in the Christmas show.

Badass! Also, I see you changed your profile pic. What happened to Rise Against?

Oh I still love them with all of my heart, but I wanted a different picture.

My school didn't require you to. I remember the music teacher was letting kids buy them though so they could play. I thought it looked cool then. Now I don't.

I still have mines :D But I wish they made us learn to play some other cooler instrument.. Like a guitar and as the other comment said a ukelele , THAT eould've been better.

It was supposedly suppose to teach you how to play an instrument which is complete horseshit to me because 1. They forced to play with only our right hand claiming you play with your right. Most instruments I have seen require both hands or your domaint hand. 2. I can't think of a single instrument right off the top of my head that plays at a 45 degree angle. 3. I don't know about you but we only played 3 notes at the max. Not a single note more or another octave. 4.The recorders we got didn't teach us anything about putting an instrument up. You don't slide it into a sleeve that has instructions on how to play the instrument. 5. You would have to be really talented not to suck at it which who wants to spend so much time on the world's crappest instrument.
