It seems there were no REALLY hot people prior to the 1900s, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's because Johnny Depp wasn't born until 1963.
by Anonymous13 years ago
hahaha true
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's because their definition of hot was different from ours. Sure, there may have been some that would be considered hot now, but back then they were ugly and probably didn't have many paintings made of them because of that.
by Anonymous13 years ago
but have you SEEN the mona Lisa? she was so ugly, how could anyone think that fatass was beautiful
by Anonymous13 years ago
You're pretty biased, being born in the modern era and all. They would see pictures of people we think are beautiful and say "What a toothpick. And look at that face. Ugh."
by Anonymous13 years ago
thats true. I mean, i can see why *i* would think people are pretty/ beautiful- because they look like what we see in magazines and what society has given to us as the poster image of beauty. but why would you think a fat/ cubby person is pretty though? that thought doesnt even process in my mind
by Anonymous13 years ago
Back then, if you were fat, it showed that you had a lot of money and therefore were able to afford a lot of food. Also, if you were pale, then that meant you never had to do outdoor physical labor. So eating a lot and never working out was a sign of wealth, which was the same thing as beauty to them.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah i knew about the pale thing from my history class last year, and i think pale people can still be hot anyway. but fat isnt sexy!!
by Anonymous13 years ago
That really is just a matter of opinion. The defintion of "hot" varies with the current culture.

how can you look at that and not wanna tap dat ass? WOO!
by Anonymous13 years ago
How would you know?
by Anonymous13 years ago
never seen a hot person in a painting/ picture from before the 20th century
by Anonymous13 years ago
Doesn't mean they weren't hot in real life
by Anonymous13 years ago
well obviously what we think is hot now, isnt what they thought was hot because they didnt paint them
i mean theyre decent looking, but when i see them im not like DAMN
by Anonymous13 years ago
Maybe they could be damn, if dressed right...and maybe with a haircut.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I dont know.. their faces just arent damn material
by Anonymous13 years ago
Well...the guy in the Romeo and Juliet movie was really hot! The movie might've been made in the '60s and not in Verona, but still :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
i agree, he was quite hot. but he wasnt BORn before the 1900s!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah, I know. I was just using him for an example because I'm not friends with a lot of people who were born before then
by Anonymous13 years ago
i have at least 500 friends from that era. pshhhh
by Anonymous13 years ago
Well you said you know no hot people from there, so your friends must be ugly. To quote Michael Kelso, "BURNED!"
by Anonymous13 years ago
he doesnt say BURNED! he says BURN!!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Whoops! Guess I just got a burn...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Leonardo da Vinci... Well I don't know if he was actually hot, but we watched a movie about him in History and the actor of him in his twenties looked like an Italian Darren Criss.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I love Darren Criss :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
