This website has the weirdest shit: http://www.improbable.com/ I'd recommend going to winners, a few examples of said weird shit are making and designing a bra that in emergency situations can be doubled as a face mask for two people, using magnets to levitate a frog, discovering that a legitimate way to cure the hiccups is to have a "digital rectum massage", and somebody discovered that Viagra cures hamsters of jet-lag. (by the way these are all off the top of my head so please forgive me if I get some of it wrong).
