What the HELL does a giant bunny walking around laying colorful eggs and hiding them for people to find have to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, amirite?
well, i'm not really religious, but the reason the Christians "stole" their holidays, is that in the beginning the christian religion was forbidden and they had to hide what they were really celebrating. So when they celebrated Easter they could say they were celebrating the (not fobidden) pagens holiday and no one would come after them. Same with Christmas/Midwinter Festival.
ok seriously? muffin monkey, thats the weakest excuse ever. and to answer your question, nothing. american society has perverted this glorious occurence to a thing of culture. most americans hate the idea of a man being nailed to a cross, wrapped in rough cloth, being buried in a borrowed grave, and on the third day, defeating death and bursting forth in glorious triumph.
The reason why is because it was a Pagan holiday..and bunnies represent fertility and that is what this holiday was for. The name Easter also came from a Pagan woman.
Eggs, bunnies, green grass, springtime... they all have to do with new life. When Jesus rose, he had new life and gave the rest of us a chance at new life as well. Also, over time traditions have changed and everything Easter was supposed to mean is lost for most people just like Christmas, St. Patrick's day, and Valentine's Day.
my earth science teacher said that in roman times before Jesus it used to be a celebration of fertility time, but then the Christians came and turned it into a Jesus party. But they still kept all the little bunnies and eggs around to make it kinda the same so people wouldn't get mad.
yea its a pagan holiday that accidentally mixed with passover, the fertility 'goddess' diana deemed bunnies and eggs symbols of fertility so there you go. And i think its funny that you included the word hell in a post promoting Jesus. hahaha
what is it with you christians stealing holidays from the pagens? no originality... cant come up with anything of your own so ya steal it. Isnt that one of yalls things "thou shall not steal"?
Hell isn't a curse word. If that's the case than all Christians do is curse when they're at church talking about where all us horrible blasphemous sinners are going to go.

Jesus was reborn on Easter. THings come out of eggs when they're born. Bunnies are known for having lots of children. And people just like candy.

No, I think her explanation was okay.
Actually, I've heard that explanation before, so I think that's legit ;P

Well, it's all a bunch of bullshit. So they might as well throw in some more.

What I don't get is why a person who comes on here to tell us about Jesus, is cussing in the process.

Not when you say it like that. When you're talking about the place, fine. It would've been better to just say "Why does a giant bunny..." instead.
