+481 It's quite sad to think that many teachers probably initially wanted the job to inspire kids, and help them reach their potential, but they ended up having do mundane things such as give detentions for incorrect uniforms, and grade according to one-off test results rather than overall student progess, and got old and bitter because of it. Amirite?

My Dad loathes his job as a teacher and has had to be let off school for over 6 months in the past couple of years because of stress. It's a pathetic system these days. :/

I swear, school systems care about EVERYTHING except for proper teaching. My principal had weekly lists of words (words that everyone knew the meaning of in middle school, but yet were made to do these in high school). He demanded that all teachers work the vocabulary into their lesson plans. While this was fine for teachers who taught core classes, this was no use to me in band, photography, JROTC, and drawing.
