+594 Evolution: so easy a caveman can do it. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but a catholic cant

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some Catholics believe in evolution, but most Baptists don't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm sorry I'm catholic and i think creationism is bull, thanks asshole.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

: Woah, I've never heard of a Catholic that believes that. Are you Catholic because you were converted or were you born into it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Both and alot of my friends feel the same (maybe because i go on about shit until they accept it just to shut me up.) but I was born Catholic and I became Atheist for a while but when i started to think about everything as a whole I found a reason to believe in God however he may not be any God we know but I can logically believe he's there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

: That's cool. Most of my Catholic and non-denominational Christian friends are religious just because their parents are. And I like how you phrased that. It'd take an extreme situation to empirically prove that God exists but there is still logic involved in faith :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I also go to a private catholic school and they choose to teach evolution and that creationism is a mistaken belief for most catholics

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm. I don't think teaching either as fact, unless you're in a church is right because you can't physically prove either so they're both theories. I don't think you should teach creationism as science but you shouldn't teach evolution as fact.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

commence the big debate on evolution vs creation.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm pro evolution, and part of the reason why is because it's cool thinking we were once fish and monkeys. =D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bahah that's the best argument for evolution I've actually ever heard. "Because it'd be cool if" we could fly, so I believe that someday we will turn into birds.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that would be so cool! But I'm not sure how that will help us. Maybe we should become flying, fire breathing lions. That could be helpful.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've arrived!!!!! Who would've thought? Can someone legitimately present a decent case for evolution? Literally, Hobbes' was the best.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok, here's the thing. It's great that you have an opinion on this issue, but is it necessary to start an argument? Obviously (and it's very apparent), you believe that you are right. Now, if you truly believe in your heart that there is no other way than your way, that's great. Then, to yourself, you're right, and that's all that should matter. Other people with other opinions view themselves as right; we may never know who has his/her facts straight. But, if you know you're right, then just sit there and admire the fact that you are more knowledgeable than others. Don't try to sway others' opinions; as you can see, many people, not unlike yourself, will NOT change their opinion no matter what others say. So, what's the point in arguing? You know you're right deep down, and you're not convincing anyone of anything. Let's just drop the issue.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nah. Don't get my wrong, your paragraph was eloquent and convincing, but it's depressing knowing how many deluded people there are. I'm Just argumentative by nature.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

does it really matter if god created earth and everything on it as it is right now, if he had nothing to do with it and we're here by chance, or if its some mix between those two? i mean religiously it doesnt drive me or really anyone towards or from god, so thats out. scientifically, if theres anything that can be gained from proving evolution correct, then it could probably also be proved simply using whatever evidence thats needed. so therefore since nothing can be gained or lost besides mere knowledge by either side proving anything, it really doesnt matter. so if you think about it, this whole thing is kind of childish.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm all the dumber having read that incomprehensible, mindless drivel. I couldn't make sense of any of that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

honestly, it was pretty simple. i was asking why it would matter if god created everything, and then likewise why exactly it would matter if evolution did it all. there are some answers that people could give me for that, but i replied to them in advance, so just read it over again. if you cant understand it then you have no business debating anything on or of this topic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God told me evolution was how it happened.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When you said that Hobbes was the best I first thought you meant Thomas, the philosopher. It made me laugh :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're not as good of a debator as you think. If you were you'd have swayed at least one person's opinion by now, but you haven't. You know why? You're nothing more than a joke now. No one really takes you seriously.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? You're an absolute idiot. Winning debates is enough. I can't help if they tenuously hold to awful beliefs. All I can do is show them they're wrong. Which I've done time and time again. I don't care what moralless people like yourself think of me. You are also incapable of seeing how obviously awful your debates are. In the one about homosexuality in the Bible, you mustve said thirty times that there wasn't a word for homosexuality in Greek. Well, when I proved you wrong, suddenly you meant something different!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, I meant the same thing the entire time, you just changed the word homosexuality from same sex love to all same sex sexual contact. I've never seen you win a debate because as soon as you're back is against the wall you result to insults and talk about how smart you think you are. If you did that in a real debate, you'd be disqualified.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uh huh. Evidence? There we go, changing up the meanings again. Your entire argument was there wasn't a word for homosexual in the Bible. And now, you've changed that to how same sex "LOVE" isn't in Greek. If I could refute that, would you change "love" to "tendencies?" And then "tendencies" to "thoughts?" Riiight. Forgive me for not holding that argument in high esteem. It's just sad how you try to loophole God's Word.

If anyone is really willing to engage in a solid debate email me matthew.footdale@med.navy.mil. Will be interesting :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you on creation or evolution?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not changing the definition at all. Modern homosexuality is considered same sex love. That's not changing the definition, that's telling you the real definition. It's more than lusting after someone's body and having sex. If someone never has sex with someone of the same gender but are attracted to people of the same sex are they still a homosexual? Yes. Using your logic, since the bible says homosexuality is a sin that means even gay virgins will go to hell.
