+670 You have these great ideas for a story, script or picture, but either you lack the skill to make it how you imagine it, or more likely, you're just too lazy to sit down and do it, amirite?

...but that's what NaNoWriMo and ScriptFrenzy are for!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I tried NaNoWriMo for the first time this month O.O there's no way I'm going to finish. It's like you fall behind for one day, and then another, and then...there's no going back.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, I know. I was behind a few days, but I caught up and reached 50,000 on the 23rd.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is crazy O.o I would try and catch up actually, because I think it would be amazing to finish, but I'm 30,000 something words behind and I don't think my parents would let me skip school to finish, lol. Congrats though!

I love NaNoWriMo, I'm on my second year. I want to try ScriptFrenzy in April.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've done NaNo twice (I won both this year and last) and I wonScript Frenzy earlier this year on my frist time :) Script Frenzy was really easy for me. I finished before the middle of the month, whereas I just reached 50,000 words on the 23 this year for NaNo.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I feel like script-frenzy might be a bit easier for me, just because I had to do a similar thing in a creative writing class once. (Although I don't think anyone would ever stage my play, it sucked.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I made mine a movie script and let's just say I should burn it ;) haha! My last year's NaNo can go in that pile too, haha. I'm actually fond of this year's novel

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think mine might have some sort of potential once I get more into it, but at the moment I feel like I'm making Stephenie Meyer look like William Golding. What's your novel about?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ohhhh gosh, that's not good. Um, it's complicated, but it's basically post-WWIII and Taya, my FMC, is a solider in the CA which is fighting the Uprising for food, shelter, resources, people, etc. and she runs into a Rouge who helps her after she's injured... and all this stuff happens, blah blah. She finds out /she's/ the reason for the war. Everyone is fighting over her because she was the tester for the "Perfect Solider Experiment" (Which she has no memory of). so blah blah, everyone wants her blood so they can inject it into their armies so they can go kill one another. Haha, so yeah. Confusing. Yours?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, it's not good at all XD it's getting a bit better though. NaNo's a really good concept, actually - I felt like when I wrote more I could think things through better. Dude, that sounds like something I would read if it were an actual book! It's really a really intresting plot. And mine is basically about a girl who joins Artemis's hunt. Pretty standard, I guess I'd have a more complicated "blah blah" type summary if I'd written more.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's sounds interesting though! Haha, summaries don't have to be long to be good. I just suck at explaining. and Thank you! How much did you write?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No prob, it's true! Plus I'm pretty big on dystopic or war novels XD. I only wrote about 17,000, which is pretty suckish, but it's the most I've ever written for an original fiction. (Besides that one mini-play.) I probably wouldn't have even gotten that far if it weren't for writeordie.com though, whoever thought of that was brilliant!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I haven't used writeordie this year, but last year it helped a lot! haha I'm usually not one for war-themed novels, but here I am writing one! haha! Well 17k is still good! It's more than most people! I have 54,000, but that's not very much compared to some people... I saw someone with over 300,000 words!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Have you ever read The Book Thief? Not war-themed in the sense that there's no actual fighting, but it takes place during WWII and is amazing! And did that person who has over 300,000 write a whole 10 pages of "and"s? Because I can't think of any other way someone could write that much in a month! I read Fahrenheit 451 recently and the author said something about the book being 50,000 words, so obviously that's pretty damn long itself.

I am proud to disagree and say that when I have an idea, I have the skill and patience to write it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You have the skill and patience to write it three times, apparently.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

AHHHH fucking iPod.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am proud to be the first to disagree and say I can and have written down my ideas. Not to mention people liked them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've written sooo many movies in my mind...
