+287 For those of us who work in retail, Black Friday is like a day in hell, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ugh. Yes. And my shift is in the middle of the day. I might just want to quit on the spot. Ha.

I think mornings are pretty bad, middle of the day, still crowded, then night; it's alright. I had to go in this morning until 4. Surprisingly, it was only extremely busy in the morning. Then again, I don't see why too many people would be buying shoes for Christmas. XP

I work at a home goods store. Was pretty quiet. Steady stream of customers - thought it was going to be worse. Parking lot wasn't full at all. However, Home Depot across the street was packed. Who the hell would go to Home Depot on Black Friday? I don't know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Home Depot? I guess, since all fathers really want are some power tools so they can do some construction. I mean, I don't know about you, but, I was hoping for some 2x4s this year.

It's the exact opposite for me. I work at a turkey farm, so the day after thanksgiving for us is like New Year's Day at a liquor store. Yesterday was a joke.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha, makes me almost want to work on a turkey farm.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whaat!? But those people on my tv tell me its the best day ever! Surely they didn't lie to me...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But don't you guys get profits from helping the customers? that would cheer me up and motivate me to get through the day ESPECIALLY if I was working in stores like LV, Banana repbulic, etc

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know MY job, we're not paid by commission, just hourly. So, I don't get anything extra. : /

by Anonymous 13 years ago

awww...no helper's commision? :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nope, just long hours, tons of stuff to clean and people to assist. It's lame like that. lol. But then again, if I had to help people to get money, I probably wouldn't have too much, since a lot of people ask one question and then are like, "Okay, thanks" and dismiss me.

nooo, just repeat your name over and over again and make a pretty good impression hahas

My mother was the manager of the toy department for Wal-Mart. Right next to the electronics section. That has to be the worst. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ugh, I can't even imagine!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What makes it funny is that she HATED when people misplaced things because they were lazy. She doesn't work there anymore and does that. Ha. Ha. : D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I work at Wal-Mart. It was only bad for about an hour, and then it was dead because everyone in Auburn was away in Tuscaloosa for the game.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

At my shoe store it was busy in the morning, and then was pretty steady later, I also assume it was for the game.

Do you work in Alabama?

2 Things: 1) I doubt 170 of us work in retail (but we voted YYA because we can imagine how they feel) 2) LOOK AT THE AMIRITE GUY AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE! HE HAS A FAMILY!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Shouldn't be too much of an adjustment, working in retail is basically Hell, anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't even work retail and I voted YYA because I couldn't imagine having to work that day.
