Saying that people don't download music illegally, is like saying that teenagers don't have unprotected sex. Not that it's a good thing. It happens though.

I don't understand it as a joke :\ For this joke to work, both parts of it have to be in some way factual. Like, illegal downloading would actually have to be uncommon, and viruses form music be common.

I didn't say it didn't happen. It's just not common. I've downloaded a good 2000+ songs illegally that I can remember throughout the past 5 years, and I haven't contracted a single virus. I have probably bought, maybe 50 songs collectively, (CD's or iTunes). I'm not lucky either. Most if not all major sources are generally pretty damn secure. Even limewire if you use common sense. It would have to be uncommon because the joke says that people don't download illegal music for a reason. but they still do. The same with how people still smoke despite health risks. They know the risks, yet they still do it. Pretty easy concept.
