Oh my God.

In the United States, the day after Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November) marks the secular Christmas season. There are usually outrageous sales (70% off in some stores) and people line up outside of stores just to get in on the big deals. The stores are, almost without exception, dangerously crowded. Every year, there are news reports of people getting trampled, shot, etc., all for STUFF! It makes me less than proud to be an American.
