This. Like, I've worked a lot of shitty jobs in stores, restaurants, etc., and I know it's a pretty crappy occupation, but being a jerk about it isn't going to make it better. It's gotten to the point where if I go to get something to eat from a pub or diner or fast food joint, and the person serving me is rude, I'll leave. If you don't want my service, then don't have it. I'm not even talking about being over-enthusiastic about your job, just simple things like making a customer more important than talking to your workmates or your mobile, and not acting like the customer is a burden to you by being there.
