-175 there are some places where religion and politics shouldnt be discussed. like on the school bus and in the class room. Amirite?

Unfortunately, discussion and debate are easily mistaken for each other. Nothing wrong in a discussion, I like learning about other religions.

well yes i love learning about other religions but that is never how the discussion turns out.

Politics shouldn't be discussed in school...? Religion I understand somewhat, but as long as the teacher isn't talking bad about one religion vs. another, I guess it's ok.

Some people treat politics like a religion - at election time, the democrat kids were ready to rip the republican kids throats out.

Or here...

I agree. Only because, generally when "discussing" either of those things, SOMEONE is going to judge you if you're not on their side. And it almost always turns into an argument.

And Congress.

personally i thought my government and politics class was very interesting, and why not learn about other religions? also, school bus? who cares what you talk about on a school bus?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

unless, you know, you're in a government class, where discussing politics is kinda needed. :/

Well the classroom maybe... But we have some seriously philosophical conversations on my bus.
