You respect people that don't answer the phone when you are with them, amirite?

My aunt had to tell her 30yo daughter that txting at the dinner table was rude. She genuinely had no idea...stupid bitch

Totally depends on who is calling them. One of their parents when a family member is sick in hospital? I would want them to answer it.

I think in that situation they would definitely answer their phone and whoever they're with would understand assuming that they know the situation.
Otherwise, if it's someone who's just calling because they have nothing better to do and the person you're with answers and keeps talking to them, that is pretty disrespectful.

Oh ok, yeah I don't like that. Although I don't mind if they answer and talk for a little bit as long as they say "oh I'm with someone now, can I call you back later".
I took away my NW vote because I think I may have over reacted thinking about all the situations where it would be acceptable, where this was just being genral.
