You've wondered at least once why the letters on a QWERTY keyboard are arranged that way, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
The man who invented the keyboard was named Qwert Yuiop

That's a lie. It was created by Christopher Latham Sholes. smd.

Because back in the day when people used type writers, the writers always typed too fast and the keys would stick. So they started coming with keyboards that weren't in alphabetical order so people would type slower.
Makes no sense imo though, writers would get used to where the keys are eventually... but apparently it stuck.

No, that's a rumor.

because Q W E R T Y on the keyboard are all next to each other?
by Anonymous13 years ago
The more common the letter, the easier it is to hit. Ever wonder why Q,Z, and X are in the most awkward corners?
by Anonymous13 years ago
I was just going to say that. The most used keys are in the places your fingers can reach easiest for quick access. It's hard to stretch your pinky to hit the Q, Z, and X keys and they are the least used.

well then that sucks for you. Fortunately the human brain only reads the first and last letters of a word so I can read what you wrote XD

The most common letters are a little spaced apart because when people typed them the letters would jam together

it blows my mind that people actually dont know the reasoning behind that.
