"R" in rhetoric, a long word being the fear of long words, a palindrome being the fear of palindrones (though I don't think this is considered a real phobia), the list goes on.

I didn't realise paying attention in school made one 'sound proper'; I was always of the belief that everyone else not paying attention made them sound like retards.

I think I mainly felt that way since I read it in a British accent. Most people don't say "my apologies" so my mind automatically turned onto it's proper English accent mode.
