-209 I don't understand how you can be "madly in love with your savior Jesus Christ" if you've never met the guy. It's like being obsessed with Brad Pitt, amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I don't understand how you can compare people's love for their God to being obsessed with Brad Pitt. That's just wrong. And we're madly in love with Him because we have met Him. We haven't met him physically, but we've met Him in a different way. A deeper and more real way. He is my best friend, my rock, and my savior. Hopefully, I pray, you'll have an experience one day that changes your mind about Him and then you'll change your heart.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

i understand how i could have offended you with my post. it was a bit insensitive, but you think that you've know him in a more real way than even your mother or father? not knowing him means that you know him in a more real way? how have you met you met him, then? has he spoken to you? do you hang out on the weekends? and what has he saved you, personally, from? have you lived in sin? real sin. what experience have you had that made you think that he's your best friend or was it your parents or pastor telling you so

by Anonymous 14 years ago

you are so right. Peoploe say that ' He brigtens my day' and all that stuff. And do you really think that if he wanted us to e free that he would give us rules and stuff. in the old days they had stories. People told me that some dude found a rock or some thing hat they had seen god and rote down his laws and stuff. But did anyone actually think that it was a story. And people tell the story of how he was the father of jesus. But do you hear any stlories of Gods maker no. the question is WHO CREATED GOD!? if you have an answer please tell me cause i want to know. and im sorry if i offended any christians or religios foke.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

AGREED!!!!! god has a lot of stalkers, and the vast majority he will say he doesn't know and tell them to get lost.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

LavLav_Loves_WonWon: If you choose to know God, he can be the most real and true thing in your life. You're father, your best firend, your rock, and your salvation. I understand how someone who doesn't know God for themselves would think that is strange and untrue, but I have experienced the love of God in a way that only others who have felt his love can understand. And yes, God has spoken to me. Not out loud, but in my heart and through the bible. People will ALWAYS let you down at one time or another, but God will never fail. Yes I have lived in sin. Everyone in the world has sinned, and I willl not pretend to be perfect. But God has saved me form an eternity in hell.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

let's get one thing straight. God will never fail because no one will admit that he has. no matter what he does everyone says "there must be a good reason for it. it's in god's plan" i'm sure god has failed. like i bet he regrets making Hitler. and i must have felt his love, if he loves everyone, and i still don't understand. i don't think i'm a terrible person, i'm obviously not perfect either, but just because i didn't know if God existed or not then i will spend an eternity in hell? that seems to be what you're implying

by Anonymous 14 years ago

wow lets start from the beginning. the holy spirit god and jesus christ is the trinity. no you dont hang out on weekends. but yes you can meet him. believe it or not you live in sin everyday..so the statement that says do u live in real sin. well what is real? all sins are equal..whether if its lieing to a friend or robbing a bank. god says all sins are equal..so yes god saves us from real sin everyday. this is a religion. it gives ppl who are struggling hope and belief that there is someone out there to protect them and help them through that. i wouldnt call it an obsession he is more of a hero. what you said was ignorant and thats a bit rude. but its okay because you may just not have been taught about him. believing in him means you understand what he has done. do u celebrate easter? and good friday..thats a religious holiday based on the crucifiction and ressurection of the lord our savior. he died and rose again three days later. why? to clean us from our sins. god is a powerfu...

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Powerfu? ... :)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

You say that everyone lives in sin every day. At the end of your comment, you quote something from the Bible. You said that Jesus died and resurected ''to CLEAN us from our sinns.'' Well, he was not quite successfull with his noble deed to die such a cruel dead. Because you say we still live in sinns every day. FAIL. Poor Jesus... And to come back to the subject: Falling in love with Jesus (or God, whatever how many personality that guy's got) is quite sad (not in a bad way) because falling in love with someone so unreachable... Is even more sad than falling im love with a teacher. Because mentally, the teacher is unreachable for a relationship, but Jesus/God/spirit/holy fellow is also physically unreachable. So he talked to you to trhough your hearts? Isn't that just like a sort of intutition? Or just a spark of reason through the sheepish religion of the catholics?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

that is so right.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Christianity is the ultimate ignorance.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

the ULTIMATE ignorance? are you sure? have you seen some of the things that humans have done and have you seen some of the other religions out there

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Thats why I left for Agnosticism.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

then the majority is living in ignorance? almost twice the amount of people hit "no way" than "yeah you are"

by Anonymous 14 years ago

yes. the majority is living in ignorance. people are stupid. they are irrational. they can't deal with reality. so they go off to live in fantasy to believe that they weren't put here just to keep their species alive.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

everyone is ignorant about something. i'm not saying believing in Christianity is ignorant but arguing against that by saying that 300 people can't be ignorant about one thing doesn't make sense. they can. i bet almost all 300 of us are ignorant about rocket science and brain surgery

by Anonymous 14 years ago

i know. i was being serious. people are ignorant. they are irrational.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

to naomi: FAIL? poor Jesus? Um, I'm afraid you are mistaken. It was to cleanse us of our sins, yes people still sin everyday, he wasn't "cleansing" as to get rid of them forever and that it would never happen again but to allow us a clean slate for when we ask forgiveness for when we do sin. And falling in love with God is not sad, quite the opposite actually. If you are close to the Lord and you have accepted him he isn't unreachable. Actually he's reachable to anyone if you give him the chance. In fact he's closer to you than anyone can ever be, just a prayer away. And if you mean physically unreachable, he won't be once you're in Heaven, because you will be face to face with him and in complete amazement to finally be with the one who has loved you all your life even before the dawn of time. Who doesn't want something like that? Someone always there and forever dependable, yeah I think I'll go with that. Jussayin.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Could you tell me how I could get in touch with God? Does he know me and support me even though I'm not aware of that? Is he human? Does he think the same way as I do? is he my alter ego? How do you know who he is? And why do you need someone like that? Can't you just ask forgiveness to the one you harmed? Why do you have to ask forgiveness to someone who was, at the time you harmed someone, just watching someone else doing something he later asked forgiveness for? He is like Santa Clause to me: How can he see and hear everything from everyone? Don't you think I am strong, that I handle my own things, just with the people who are involved with my life? I appreciate my privacy. or wait! Is God someone who lives inside yor head? You guys always say '''heart'', so according to you he is able to escape from you heart when you've got a heart surgery? Or is he able to leave your hearts when he wants? He would not be so great when he was locked up..

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Okay, I love magic and all, but I can't rationally believe that some all supreme being exists. If he does exist, and this world is any indication he's a sick person, who uses us for his own entertainment. That said, most religions I find ridiculous. I think religion is just an instrument so people have somewhere to place their faith, without losing their sanity, during hard times. I'm perfectly capable of managing mine, so really I've no use for silly things like "the Trinity." However, I do respect the RIGHT of others to believe in what they want, but that doesn't mean I have respect for the religion itself. So, more or less I agree with OP.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

oh yeah, yeah, i'm not trying to bash anyone for their beliefs. i may come across that way, but that is never what i intended. i was just posting what i believed and a whole can of worms exploded

by Anonymous 14 years ago

God isnt actually in your heart when someone accepts him. It's a figure of speech, the heart is the organ that keeps blood pumping through our body. The expression is like saying that God keeps us alive. God is making us live. when someone becomes a true Christian, they die so that they may live in HIM. God is everywhere, he's there for you at anytime that you want to be near him. He loves everyone, even if they dont love Him. However, he is a just God and a God of rath. Most ppl dont want to hear that part but it's true. the reason to ask for forgivness is that He made us. He is the creator. and we are made in His image. But we are full of sin since man has fallen from God. and we choose to disobey him. And if we want to be with him again we then have to ask Him for his forgiveness. and when you say that being in Love with God is like being in love with Brad Pitt, it's like a slap in the face. I have met God, I meet with him Daily.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

i'm sorry about the Brad Pitt thing. i understand how that could be offensive. i think that God is an excuse that allows people to trust themselves. trust that you are doing the right thing, trust that everything will be all right, trust that you are a good person and that you will be forgiven for what you've done wrong. i don't personally need that because i trust just enough to know that whatever i have done wrong will be forgiven by the people i care about and who i've hurt and if not, it will be ok. i don't need God to reassure me on that and "they die so that they man live in HIM" what? IN him? i don't want to live inside him if you mean that literally

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I think they were referring to the part in Romans about being dead to sin and alive in Christ. (Romans chapter 6 to get it in context. too long to copy here, but you can just google it.) If, as the bible says, the punishment for sin is death, then living a life in which your friends are happy with you won't cut it. Jesus is the Way, Truth, and Life, and is the only way to the Father (heaven). He lived a perfect life, and that gave him the authority to forgive others during his life (and to take the punishment for sin upon himself from everyone when he died as the sacrificial Lamb of God upon the cross).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wish people would stop hating on my Jesus friend and they would just open their hearts and their minds to Him; to things that are beyond the physical.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

i don't have a problem with Jesus, i have a problem with the people who think that they are madly in love with him. i don't have a problem with religion, i have a problem with the people who take it to a whole new ridiculous level. there's a huge difference

by Anonymous 14 years ago

A scientist in a laboratory clones a goat. He made that goat, he made the goat live... is that scientist God for making that goat? Or is he just a scientist?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Jesus > Brad Pitt.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

haha i won't argue with that!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

haha nice one. I♥jesus

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Almost nothing beats Johnny Depp! Okay, maybe dr. Gregory House ^^ And the only Jesus I have ever truly seen is Ted Neeley, and Yes, I like him too :-) He makes his story live, for me, though it is based on manuscripts of people who died ages ago. Ah never mind, it's a good story to me, but people need to see the difference between a book (even when it's a bestseller) and reality.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Jesus died for me, and for you. I love Him for that, problem?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

did you read the first comment? they said that he is their best friend and that they know him in a more real way than anyone else even though they've never met him. that's what i don't understand. when your level of love for him reaches that kind of ridiculous

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I know that might seem ridiculous to you, and to others but it makes complete sense to me. It's hard to explain because we're so undeserving and messed up (as a species) but someone who was perfect died to save us out of love. I love Him for that and trust Him and understand that He is in control of my life, because He is the most deserving thing in the whole of creation. But I understand how absurd it must seem to you from the outside, I just hope one day you will understand and you might welcome Him with all your heart (:

by Anonymous 14 years ago

you don't know that he was perfect! how could you possibly know that? he gave his life for all of us and that was a truly amazing thing but that doesn't mean that he was perfect. nobody's perfect, not even Jesus

by Anonymous 14 years ago

But he is, and that's the point, the whole reason he was able to die for us, is because he's perfect.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

can't you die for others whether you're perfect or not? i feel like we think he's perfect because he died for us. if he hadn't would we still think he was perfect?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

heh, jesus doesn't exist. or, let me rephrase that. here's my opinion: I don't believe in it. And i dislike Christianity because you don't see people going around, ringing doorbells and saying "BE A BUDDHIST!". If people don't want to be a Christian, don't try to force it. It doesn't matter in the long run, you probably won't stay in touch with them.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

The majority of Christians believe that Jesus died for everyone in the whole world, so that no one would have to be punished for eternity. If you believed that wouldn't you wanna tell everyone? That's fair enough of them, right?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

it's one thing to tell them, but another to force them to believe. why would you be punished for an eternity just because you didn't 100% believe those who told? i think he would be more forgiving than that

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Ummmm... god is a superstition

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Why do you need to believe in Jesus/God/flying spirit/perfectness when you just can believe in yourself and use your intuition to achieve good things in life? Why has there always been some kind of horrifying death/Hell/fate needed to make people happy? Always this damnation if you fail to believe in some untouchable, unreachable, irrational kind of THING that no one is able to describe but as something you FEEL in your heart. Well what is hat's just love and intuition and reason, that us guiding us since we have become homo sapiens sapiens? Remeber this: hwen things in life are getting too complicted to understand, some people are calling out to God for help, but all we need is Simplicity!!!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

exactly! trust yourself enough to believe that your own intuition is right and if not that you can pick yourself back up. make sure that you have forgiven yourself and ask forgiveness of those you've hurt, but you don't need any holy spirits to forgive you. and, yeah, if there is a god, i don't think that he would send me to an eternity of hell and damnation even though i was a good (enough) person just because i didn't know whether there was a god or which one. i hope that he would be more forgiving than that

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Yes, because, since he created us like his own image, he should know that humans are not that easy to convince. They only believe what they can sense; like the philophic emprirism. They only believe what is reasonable and visible. So either He is dumb, or we are not created like his image.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I hate having to debate my religion with people that know next to NOTHING about Christianity, so before you make a statement saying that christians have never met God or Jesus Christ, please bear in mind that we aren't lunatics and what we believe is as real to us as the things you love are real to you. Thanks ;)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

im not trying to force you to argue with me or defend your religion. i just don't understand it. of course i don't think that you are a lunatic that has visions or something! i am merely stating my opinion and seeing who agrees. you don't have to agree and im not gonna try to convince you to. sorry if i offended you, again i was stating my opinion

by Anonymous 14 years ago

thank you!!! i completely agree! <3 god

by Anonymous 14 years ago

by the way, god does not deny making Hitler! Hitler made those descisions for himself! If you are not Christian, it's hard to imagine God loving such a hatred and evil man like Hitler, but God is...incredible, amazing, and wonderful, that he continued loving Hitler and still does! Now, for all the people who don't believe in God, I pray for you, and hope that you find the wonderful loving relationship between you and God. God is waiting for you to respond to his knock at the door...all you have to do it open it! I am not ashamed to speak out for what i believe in, i will not put annoymus on this post, and for all the christians, stand up for what you believe in! God loves you..forever...and ever
