+743 When Adolf Hitler was fighting for Germany in the First World War, a marksman shot his friend who was 2 feet away from him. If the marksman decided to shoot Hitler instead, millions of people wouldve been saved from horrible deaths. It's weird how tiny things can change history, amirite?

Unless his friend became a more terrible dictator than Hitler and succeeded to take over the entire world. Weird indeed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never considered that...damn, fate is strange.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hitler was also poisoned with Mustard Gas at the end of the war. Hitler's escaped death SO many times...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

43 documented times, as far as I know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Clearly Hitler is immortal and is still alive, he's just waiting for the right time to return.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really, it's the one thing that makes me question my belief that there is no higher power in the Universe. One man turning an entire country of regular people into raving lunatics, carrying out one of the greatest acts of genocide in history, almost single-handedly taking over the world, and surviving 43 assassination attempts only to die by his own hand? It's insane, and he propbably would have succeeded if Japan didn't bomb America.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Japan bomb America? Other way around, bro.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, you're thinking on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. I'm referring to Pearl Harbor. America was adamant about staying out of the war unless attacked, which is what Japan did. If they hadn't, America wouldn't have been brought into the war until Germany destroyed everyone else. It's entirely possible that the only reason the allies won the war is because America came in relatively early.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...It's still really douchey Japan did that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ahh, I get you. Sorry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He means the Pearl Harbour attack.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I laughed way too hard at that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And each time he survived it made him think that he was right in his mission and that someone was looking out for him and wanted him to succeed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Can't blame him, I'd probably have thought the same thing if I were even remotely religious. Another example would be Fidel Castro. He survived 638 assassination attempts.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People die. It happens, If Hitler didn't kill them, fate would.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True, but if Hitler wasn't around they wouldn't have been killed so horrendously and/or tortured.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But the History Channel would have nothing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thats depressing...

It'd be a LOT more different than that, trust me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I remember this story a little differently. I heard that he was at a radical right-wing demonstration after WWI that got violent and the police shot into the crowd and hit the person next to him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If I didn't kick some rock, then this one kid wouldn't have tripped on it and died. O_O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hitler's mom was going to have an abortion but her doctor talked her out of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that doctor must've felt like such a douchebag later on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really like this, hope it becomes POTD.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thanks :)

Chaos Theory!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hitler's father should've learned to pull out

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's a fallacy in reasoning...hypothesis contrary to fact.
