There's also some element of "testing" the other person's DNA... so if they taste bad or smell bad, then you weren't meant to be together. Something like that.

Ya! Pheromones that are excreted in sweat (which you can easily smell while making out) smell a certain way depending on the immunities written in your genetics. If it's too similar to yours, meaning you may be related, your possible children won't have as strong as an immune system so your body naturally is unattracted to it. I sometimes feel like our bodies are smarter than we are.
