Yes, but the difference in distances from the mound to the plate in baseball and softball mean softball hitters require around the same reaction time as baseball hitters.

Also OP is why no one takes female sport seriously - if you try to compare it to a male sport then you will get laughed at. Take it as a sport alone and you can appreciated it. Women should learn to stay out of the pissing competition seeing as they are so 'elegant'.....

softball is at least as difficult of a sport as baseball. for many reasons..but a big one is pitches. since baseball throws overhand they cant throw risers, while in softball you can make the ball move anywhere, up, down, left, right, whatever. Sports scientists have done a test where they took Jenny Finch and had the best major league hitters try to hit her pitches, and she struck them all out, no contest. im not trying to say softball is the hardest sport in the world, im trying to say people should respect softball and the fact it is at least equivalent to baseball in intensity and difficulty.

This guy from Cal whatever is not. Obviously there's an advantage there. If this baseball pitcher had any sort of breaking ball, he wouldn't be in college. Anyone can hit a 95 MPH fastball. 2. The thing that really pissed me off, was the force generator "experiment". Any basic physics course teaches you Force=Mass x Acceleration. Since a softball weights 27% more than a baseball, obviously it's going to produce more force. However, that doesn't make it more difficult to hit. In fact, the size makes it easier to hit. You may say "Well it's harder to get generate power into a heavier ball", well I say softball players use aluminum bats to nullify that. 3. The hitter they brought in was a baseball player. If he's been hitting baseball pitchers for his whole life, OBVIOUSLY HE'S GOING TO BE BETTER AT HI...

Okay so maybe the experiment wasnt perfect. No experiment can be, and i do agree with most people that the person who posted this worded it terribly, because they did. But anyway, i was just trying to prove that softball is still a very difficult sport and is at least as tough a sport as baseball [like i said earlier]. Oh yeah and the size doesnt matter if the ball is breaking so much [mainly with a riser] or it has slowed down from 60 to 45 mph [no attitude intended]. it is still incredibly hard to hit. and with the aluminum bats there isnt a big sweet spot [im not trying to use this as an excuse, im just saying that you need to hit it just right to get a good solid hit]. And just as a random side note, baseball fields have the grase in the infield, and a much larger infield. the grass slows the ball down slightly and they are farther back from the batter [not saying it instantly makes softball a lot more dangerous]. Oh no, don't worry, I'm not one of those people who thinks softball isn't a sport and what not. In some aspects, it is harder than baseball, and in some aspects, it's not. As weird as this sounds, it's almost like baseball is more of a finesse game, aesthetically it's more graceful. But that means softball is more in your face. Kinda the outlier of women's sports.
