Totally agree. Most people who try to act popular wind up getting ignored while the people who are always genuinely happy and nice have a group surrounding them.
Or maybe those people get "judged" because they ARE stuck up and refuse to talk to anyone who doesn't wear expensive brand name clothes.
I mean, I know girls who are genuinely nice and pretty and all, however most of the "popular" girls I've encountered are anything but nice.
It really depends on the school. At mine, the 'popular group' is a bunch of arrogant jocks and their friends. At others it may be the genuinely nice people.
See, that's how it was at the high school I went to. It varies from person to person, and it all depends on their specific experiences.
i doubt that.
you should look at the context of the comment i was replying to. it looks like you responded to the wrong person.
oh yeah. sorry...
taht the popular girls are anything but nice. theyre popular for a reason, and unless theyre the kind of popular that comes from them thinking everything is about them and starting drama and being infamous, i dont think the real popular people are bitches who judge everyone by their designer clothes.
That's what I was implying in my initial comment.
"Popular" unfortunately can have a very negative connotation among high schoolers.
Like I said, I knew girls who truly do fit the denotative meaning of popular, and other girls who are like you described: Bitchy.
ah i see. yeah i dont really concider someone popular when no one likes them and theyre just well known and people want to hang around them because somehoe they got people to think they were cool, like the plastics in mean girls.
Am I the only one that can't REALLY identify a "popular" group at my school? There are jocks, of course, but they don't all hang out together. and theres no stereotypical mean cheerleader girls or bully football players. its pretty well rounded.
The popular people in my school are the ones who are loud, talk back to teachers, cut class and act like they own everything. That doesn't sound like a nice personality to me.
actually, at my school, everybody judges them cuz theyre pretty and have alot of friends when really, theyre really nice and funny. there are a couple of stuck up mean people and you have to get them to like you but the rest are really nice. you just have to get to know them.
At my middle school and high school, the popular people were/are really nice (well, most of them). :-/
It's weird, because at my school some of the nicest girls are the prettiest of the popular people. The...ummm... "not-so-pretty" popular people are really mean and snobby. I know this one girl who refused to do a project w/ me simply because she didn't like me. And I have never talked to her once beforehand. I hate girls like her :U
Someone's a little conceited...
I'll admit that there are some really nice girls in the popular group at my school, but the vast majority of them are stuck up and mean.
Also, this post was obviously written by one of the popular people, because someone outside of that group would never write something like this.
Just wondering... Why am I the only one you're getting on to?
Apology accepted. Also, I'm sorry for calling you conceited.
