If you truly love somebody you honestly don't care what people think of them. amirite?

The love of my life was a serial rapist. People did not think very kindly of him.

I gave up the best guy in the world because I was afraid of what my friends would think. I'm never gonna be that stupid again.

Oh man. I am sorry. That's tough. :(

I disagree. If my friends thought he was a total jerk, I would def care.

Then you you don't truely love him do you?

Was that to me? Cause it wasn't a reply. I'm going to assume it was.
You sometimes need an outside view of the situation, because it's easy to ignore the bad stuff in a relationship if you're too swept up in the emotions of it. So if my friends noticed that he was a jerk, or hey, if my friends' opinions of him were that he was a cheater, this is all stuff I would want to know.

Hmm. I guess that is true.

Personally, I think I'm one of those girls who wouldn't listen if my friends said the guy I loved was a jerk. I would think they just didn't know him as well as I did. Granted, that's not a wise way to go about things, but I'm not a good listener...
Cheating would be different. If someone told me they saw my guy cheating I'd listen right away.

Love doesn't just have to be for a boyfriend/girlfriend, so I relate this to a parent or sibling. And I definately care about what others say about my family, because I love them so much it personally offends me.

Well, it depends on what you mean by caring. If someone said he was a jerk, then I would care and take that into consideration. And if someone is just talking about how weird he is (which has happened before), then I care in that I get super-angry and defensive on his behalf. Either way, I would have to disagree.

I agree and disagree somewhat. Love is blind sometimes.. As and example look at girls in an abusive relationship. Anyone from the outside would tell her to get away, but she loves him.
But I agree because a lot of people can be shallow and tell you that you could do so much better (looks wise).
My sister is dating an American (my family is Ukrainian) and a lot of people are giving her crap for it, telling her to stay within our culture.
Also I love God no matter how much people dislike me for it.
