+292 The United States isn't free until everyone is free, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We are free. Where have you been?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Last time I checked there were no more slaves...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You aren't saying to let people out of prison and jail, are you?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think they mean gay rights.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, cause we totally keep the gay people in a prison camp. (/sarcasms)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What the person is saying is that gay people are being denied a basic right because they are different. That is taking away freedom which means, the country is not free.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What right to they not have that I do have?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In many sates the can't adopt. In several states they cannot give blood regardless of them being STD negative and then, the big one, marriage.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can't marry someone of my own sex. And nobody who engaged in homosexual acts in the last (I can't remember exactly) maybe 30 years can give blood. What if someone was a victim of gay rape? They might be straight but they still can't give blood. And fine, I'll give you adoption.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

For you to marry someone of your own gender would make you homosexual, which means the law specifically discriminates against you. The blood law is still a matter of discrimination because a person can be gay but not have a disease .

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am straight, but I can't marry someone of the same gender, thus I don't have the right to marry when they don't. No, it's not a matter of discrimination, as the example I provided proved.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's still discrimination.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree completely with Amish.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Can't gay people take the trip up to vermont if they want to get married? Or they can wait a year for more gay-friendly legislation to pass.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They shouldn't have to move just so they can get married when everyone else can get it anywhere they want.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're going to have to get used to the fact that there will always be a certain group of people who will be prejudiced and as long as there aren't any gay-slavery laws, proportionally, it's not that bad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sigh... how many times will this re-worded post make the homepage... I think we all get it already.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Compared to a lot of other societies, both in the past and now, we have it pretty good. It's not like it's impossible for gay people to get married, they might just have a long drive ahead of them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

true that homeslice

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I interpreted this wrong. I thought it meant we're not satisfied until we help all the "opressed" countries, since ya know we're always in everyone else's business.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anyone else have the "Is gay marriage wrong?" advertisement under the post?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The free people are still free. Come on, now. Nobody really has it THAT bad, anymore. Take a guess where the term "flaming faggot" comes from. They used to burn gay people, so I'd say we've come a long way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree. I'm tired of hookers being so damn expensive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this was a very poorly worded post. too broad.
