+167 Growing up is like taking swimming lessons. At first, you struggle to stay afloat; you make mistakes and you learn from them. After a while, you begin to feel comfortable with yourself and your abilities. One day, you gather enough courage to approach the diving board. You climb the steps and stand warily at the edge of childhood. You are now ready to dive into adulthood. amirite?

Then you try to come back up from the water and some fat kid on a floaty is blocking you and you can't breathe then AHHHH death.

and if you mess up with the wrong people you end up floating in a river..

Nah, I'm fat. Struggling to stay afloat was never a problem. I physically can't stay under the water for more than a few seconds without holding onto something.

I have to disagree. Adult hood is something that just happens slowly that you hardly even notice it until you start having those moments when you realise you are just like your mum/dad

Learning to swim happens slowly, too. I agree, though, that maturation isn't very noticeable.

Maybe. But I could swim before I could walk. Just a matter of jumping in and not drowing =P
