The reason why they make the boxes square-ish is because it supports the box and helps it not crush the pizza. This fact is on the side of either dominos or papa johns i believe

Forget the box, lets focus on the pizza. I'm still waiting for someone to invent a pizza cube, a 12x12x12 3D square of goodness. It's architecturally challenging.
