+402 If you say "I hope I go to heaven," some angry person will say "Heaven isn't real, you religious fanatic." If you say "Go to hell," some angry person will say "Fuck you," without denying that Hell isn't real. You gotta be firm on your stances, amirite?

It's not that they're saying that they believe in Hell, it's more that they know what hell is supposed to be and it's not a nice place, and you're telling them to go there. It doesn't matter if it's real or not it's still an insult.

Um, I don't think anyone would say that to you if you say you're gonna go to heaven. I'm an atheist, and when people tell me to burn in hell for being one, I say hell isn't real so that's not gonna happen. This post isn't true.

This. It doesn't really even make sense; the situations where one might say those things are completely different. If it's intended to be a joke, it's not at all funny.

When someone tells me to go to hell, I tell them that I'll see them there or that's where the party's at. Most of the time they don't even mean it literally. Also, when someone tells me "I hope I go to heaven", (which, by the way, never happens. Mostly because everyone already "knows" they are) I don't get involved in the conversation. Not all atheists are angry.

The definition of Hell from dictionary.com –noun 1. the place or state of punishment of the wicked after death; the abode of evil and condemned spirits; Gehenna or Tartarus. 2. any place or state of torment or misery: They made their father's life a hell on earth. 3. something that causes torment or misery: Having that cut stitched without anesthesia was hell. 4. the powers of evil. The definition of heaven: 1. the abode of god, the angels, and the spirits of the righteous after death; the place or state of existence of the blessed after the mortal life. 2. ( initial capital letter ) Often, Heavens. the celestial powers; God. 3. a metonym for God (used in expressions of emphasis, surprise, etc.): For heaven's sake! As you can see, they are VERY different, as one originates from mythology and multiple religions, and the other is based mainly today on God and christian beliefs. Not to be a hater, but you are partially wrong. tl;dr: Heaven and hell are different.
